AR-BDC3 RETICLE
The illuminated, glass-etched AR-BDC3 is specifically tuned to the ballistic performance of common 5.56 loads out of an AR-15. The 1 MOA center dot provides a precise point of aim while the surrounding 16.625 MOA broken circle gets your eye into the center faster for rapid target acquisition, and the BDC keeps you on target out to 650 yards.

Max Swafford –
I purchased this Strike Eagle a week ago, and sighted it in on my Colt AR-15 with a 1/7 twist. With no bore sighting before, I just started shooting at 100 yards with a goal of zeroing about 1/2 inch dead center above the bullseye. I fired 8 rounds at the oversized start up target to see where I was on paper. The flier first round hit 1.5 inches low left. I made an adjustment, the next shot was centered, but still about 1/2 inch low. I made another small adjustment, and five of the next six rounds hit in the bullseye or 1/2 inch above the bullseye, centered. I switched to my final tweaking target, and fired a three shot group. Two created one larger hole, and the third was less than 1/2 inch from the first two, exactly 1/2 inch above dead center of the bullseye. Eight of eleven rounds were bullseyes or just above. Right out of the box, with no bore sighting. Maybe I was lucky, but I gave credit to a well made scope and an accurate reticle (BDC 3). And though that reticle has some shortcomings by default (various rounds and conditions could alter results), you can set it up by choosing your round wisely for your rifle, and testing how the ballistics of your rounds compare to the predicted reticle hold over marks. I was very impressed with this Vortex scope. I also saw a YouTube video of a field test on this same Strike Eagle scope and watched a real shooter hit three shot groups on metal targets from 200 to 600 yards out. For the money, I’m not sure you can beat this scope.
