MK Machining Scope Caps Sets
MK Machining is excited to offer our MKM Scope Cap Sets By Size. Â Scope caps are made out of a Nylon 11 material using an HP MJF 5200 3D Printer. Nylon 11 is slightly flexible to fit over your scope objective without becoming brittle and is strong enough to handle wear and tear. Scope caps feature a custom made spring for full range opening and closing of the cap without unnecessary noise. Caps are a press fit over the objective and are tightened down using a single bolt. MKM Scope Cap Sets are compatible with MK Machining ARDs. Below you will find the various objective and eyepiece diameters that we offer and what scopes we have tested them with. The tolerance on our caps allows for an objective that is approximately .005″ smaller than the listed diameter. If your diameter is larger than the scope cap size it will not fit. More Information About MJF Printing.
Multi Jet Fusion uses an inkjet array to selectively apply fusing and detailing agents across a bed of nylon powder, which is then fused by heating elements into a solid layer. After each layer, powder is distributed on top of the bed and the process repeats until the part is complete. The method of printing allows for fine details and part geometries that are difficult to accomplish via other manufacturing processes. After each print job is completed parts are allowed to cool off to prevent warping. After parts have cooled, excess powered is removed via and automated blasting machine. After the excess powder is removed the parts receive in an initial polishing via an automated blasting machine. Next parts are dyed black with a custom made dye made for us by RIT. After parts have dried, they are polished one additional time to improve surface finish and color consistency.
